NURBS Warps
Standard Free-Form Deformations (FFD) built upon tensor-product B-Splines have been proved useful to model the warp between two views of a deformable surface. In this paper, we show that the standard FFD is the affine projection of a threedimensional tensor-product B-Spline surface. We construct a new tensor-product warp relying on Non-Uniform Cubic B-Spline: the NURBS-Warp. We show that this n...
متن کاملTime warps
I reconsider asymmetrically warped compactifications, in which time and space have different warp factors. I call such compactifications time warps if the bulk geometry has neither entropy nor temperature. I provide an example starting from an asymptotically AdS5 spacetime where the speed of light, measured in a fixed coordinate system, is larger near the boundary than it is deep in the interio...
متن کاملMultiview 3D Warps Supplemental Material
The supplemental material supports the paper with a more detailed explanation of the optimisation procedure used for the estimation of the Multiview 3D Warps. It also includes a summary of the videos included in the submission with additional experiments on real and synthetic sequences. This material will be possibly made available online after the reviewing process and it will be included in a...
متن کاملWarps and Cosmic
N-body simulations show that when infall reorientates the outer parts of a galactic halo by several degrees per Gyr, a self-gravitating disk that is embedded in the halo develops an integral-sign warp that is comparable in amplitude to observed warps. Studies of angular-momentum acquisition suggest that the required rate of halo reorientation is realistic for galaxies like the Milky Way.
